You're not alone

Raising a student right now is different than it used to be.

The world they're stepping into is changing faster than any of us expected. Careers that seemed stable a few years ago are shifting. New paths are emerging that weren't even on the map when we were their age. And with new technology reshaping so many industries, it can feel almost impossible to know which direction to point them.

So you do what any loving parent does. You look things up. You ask people you trust. You try to bring it up at dinner. And sometimes you get five different opinions and walk away feeling more uncertain than before.

That's not a failure on your part. It just means you haven't had the right tools yet.

That's why I created the Prepared Students Lab.
What is the Prepared Students Lab?

A growing resource library built every week around the questions real parents are actually asking.

Not generic advice. Not recycled content you've already seen somewhere else. Specific guides, tools, and playbooks that give your student a clear path forward and give you something real and concrete to do about it.

A new resource gets added to the library every week, based on what parents just like you are navigating right now.

Think of it like Netflix, but instead of shows, every week you get a new guide or tool built specifically to help your student find direction. You don't have to use everything. You use what fits your student, right when you need it.
Already inside the vault

Here's a look at six of the most popular resources already inside:

The AI-Proof Major Guide

The AI-Proof Major Guide

AI is quietly reshaping entire career paths and most families don't realize it's happening yet. This guide shows you exactly which fields of study are built for the future so your student can make a smart, informed choice before committing to a path that may not be there when they graduate.

The Finish Line Blueprint

The Finish Line Blueprint

Your kid isn't lost. They just don't know what they're aiming for yet. This goal-setting guide helps them define exactly what they're working toward so every decision finally has real direction behind it.

The Hidden Strengths Playbook

The Hidden Strengths Playbook

Your student has abilities they were born with, and there's a good chance neither of you has fully uncovered them yet. This guide walks you through how to identify how they're wired before they spend years pursuing a path that doesn't align with who they truly are.

The Decision Clarity Playbook

The Decision Clarity Playbook

When your student says "I don't know," it's usually because they have too many options and no clear way to work through them. This playbook gives them a step-by-step filter that turns an overwhelming number of choices into one clear, confident direction.

The Will This College Prepare My Kid Scorecard

The "Will This College Prepare My Kid" Scorecard

Most parents tour the campus, connect with the vibe, and move forward without asking the questions that matter most. This scorecard gives you the exact questions to ask any college so you can compare them on the one thing that counts: their ability to prepare your student for real-world success.

The Shutdown-Proof Conversation Guide

The Shutdown-Proof Conversation Guide

If conversations about your student's future tend to end in a shrug or an awkward silence, this one is for you. It shows you exactly what to say so your student actually opens up and starts moving forward instead of pulling away.

And a new resource gets added every single week.

A year from now, you'll have access to 52 or more tools, each one built around a real question from a real parent in this community. Whatever your student is facing, there will be something inside the vault built specifically for that moment.

The Vault: This Is Where It Compounds

Every resource gets added to your personal library. So over time, you're building:

  • A clearer picture of where your student is headed
  • A set of resources you can come back to at every stage
  • A stronger foundation for guiding them through every big decision

Join today, and you don't just get what's new. You get everything that's already been built.

Richard Harris
Meet your guide

Hi, my name is Richard Harris. Here's why I'm uniquely positioned to guide you and your student.

I spent years as a high school counselor working directly with students who were trying to figure out who they were and where they were headed. I know how they think, what helps them open up, and what actually moves them from uncertainty to clarity.

Today I serve as the hiring director at a multi-billion dollar company where we bring on thousands of people every year, including students stepping into their very first jobs. I see firsthand what separates the ones who walk in ready from the ones who are still figuring it out.

Most parents are doing everything right. They just haven't had the right tools yet. I built the Prepared Students Lab because families deserve more than vague encouragement and generic advice. You deserve specific resources built by someone who genuinely understands both where your student is right now and where they need to go.

Common questions

We've got answers.

Is this actually going to help my specific student?
Every resource inside the Prepared Students Lab was built around a real question from a real parent, not a theory or a textbook framework. The resources come in different formats depending on what works best for the topic, including guides, checklists, playbooks, interactive tools, and more. Each one is specific, practical, and designed to be used right away. You're not getting a one-size-fits-all program. You're getting focused tools that address the exact challenges students face at this stage of life.
What if my student isn't in a crisis? Is this still for us?
Absolutely. Many of the parents inside the vault aren't in crisis mode. They're simply ahead-of-the-curve parents who want to give their student every possible advantage before the big decisions arrive. The library is just as valuable for parents who want to get ahead as it is for those who feel behind.
Will I actually use this? I already have a lot on my plate.
Each resource is designed to be read and applied in under 30 minutes. You don't need to consume everything at once. Think of it the way you think about Netflix. You don't have to watch every show to get value from it. You use what's relevant to where your student is right now, and the rest is there when you need it.
How is this different from what I can find for free online?
What you find for free online is general. What's inside the vault is built from lived experience in both spaces: as a former high school counselor who sat with students navigating these exact decisions, and now as a hiring director who sees every day which students thrive and which ones are still finding their footing. I've been told my combination of professional experiences is rare. And it's what makes these resources different. They're designed to help your student not just right now, but well into their future.
What if I join and it isn't what I expected?
You can cancel anytime, no questions asked. There are no contracts and no risk.
